→Now the dark begins to rise, save your breath it's far from over←
☼Nation Name: Spain
☼Human Name: Antonio Fernandez Carriedo
☼Gender: Male
☼Age: 25
☼Magic choices:
- Main - Battle axe. Antonio's pole-axe is an enchanted weapon. It's unique ability fits his unique fighting style. Simply put, the axe is fueled by anger. When wielded by an angry person, any blow delivered by the axe is backed by an even greater force than any person could muster by themselves. And since Antonio only fights when he's angry, this works in his favor.
- Secondary - On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Antonio works with water, purifying it and using it to heal wounds. He's no master at it, but it comes in handy for keeping infections away.
→Leave the lost and dead behind, now's your chance to run for cover.←
☼Description:
☼Special Features: Underneath his clothes, there are a number of scars all over Antonio’s body. None are particularly bad, but the entirety creates something of a map on his back and chest. He has one ear pierced, but he tends to wear only a small hoop or a little bead in it.
On the subject of his clothing - while Antonio frequently dresses in the armor shown above, when he isn't fighting he tends to dress very casually in exceedinly frumpy, old clothing. He also is consistently wearing a cross around his neck.

☼Dislikes: --Raised voices --Long nights --Sleeping in --Too much silence --England --America --Law-breakers
☼Personality: The simplest way to describe Antonio is as an optimist. He lives completely under the belief that so long as the sun is shining and he wakes up every morning, life is good. He finds joy in the simple things in life - the way plants grow, watching people realize their potentials slowly but surely, eating a well-made meal, or spending time with somebody important to him. Every moment is a gift, and Antonio seems to understand this more than most people do.
Antonio has a very hard time showing any emotion other than his happiness, because he's afraid that if he stops being happy for even a moment, people who are on the brink of unhappiness will fall over the edge. So even when things are hard for him, he keeps on smiling and pretending like nothing is wrong in the world. This makes him very good at comforting and helping people emotionally, and he's a feel-good sort of person to be around.
On top of this, Antonio seems to suffer from a case of obliviousness coupled with minor ADD. He doesn't seem to understand hints if they're dropped subtley, and may not get them even if they're not subtle sometimes. He also is easily distracted, especially by things that are shiny or are something that he's intensely interested in anyway - for example, gardening or turtles. A portion of this obliviousness and tendency to be distracted is an act, used to keep subjects light and carefree and to make people forget about their troubles, but only a portion. Mostly, he just really is very dense and distractable.
When Antonio does get angry, he is a force to be reckoned with. He will stop at nothing to protect people that are dear to him. However, he is rather frightened of himself in an angered state, since he seems to become a completely different person entirely - someone who enjoys hurting others. So he tries his very hardest to never end up like that. Which is part of why he always pushes so hard to be happy.
Lastly, Antonio is a very religious man. He believes in his God whole-heartedly. He draws a lot of his strength for everyday endeavors from praying and being spiritual in general. He attends church frequently and has done so ever since he was very small.
☼Strengths: Dependability - if you can trust anyone, it’s Antonio. The moment he starts serving/helping someone, he is dependable to the end and seems perfectly unable of betraying anyone he is working for. Gardening - Antonio has the uncanny ability to make things grow in even the most unlikely of places. Resilient - the Spaniard can withstand any hardship and come out of it smiling. He has yet to run into a situation that he couldn’t get through, and it’s likely that should such a situation exist, it would kill him. Hard-working - as his mother taught him, you can’t expect anything unless you work hard for it. Antonio applies this principle to everything in his life and is constantly working hard to improve himself and the lives of those around him. Optimistic - no matter the situation, Antonio can see the bright side of it. He is always willing to point out this bright side to everyone around him too, in an attempt to cheer them during dark situations. Religious - Antonio finds a great deal of comfort in his faith, and it is part of what makes him able to act the way he does. It is one of his greatest strengths that he can never be shaken in his faith in the Lord.
☼Weaknesses: Poor - Antonio does not have very much in the way of money, and that limits his means of caring for himself. This leads to bouts of malnutrition and nights of sleeping out in the cold. Too Caring - Antonio’s heart is big. Too big. Because he cares so much about people in the world, he has a tendency to put himself in dangerous situations (financially, physically, and emotionally) in order to make sure that the people around him are happy. Annoying Happy - many people believe that Antonio is too happy for his own good and doesn’t take anything seriously. This means he tends to get made fun of quite a lot. Anger - While it doesn't happen frequently, the anger that Antonio can sometimes feel is a huge weakness. It makes him physically and combatively stronger for a brief time, but when he regains himself he always feels so guilty that he feels the need to punish himself for hurting people.
☼Fears: -Antonio fears that he will one day lose himself completely to his rage. -He is also afraid of very high-class, rich people. -Anglophobia - the fear of English-speakers and people from England.
→Light the fuse and burn it up, take the path that leads to nowhere.←
☼Family and Siblings: --Carmen: Antonio's mother. A peasant. --Miguel: Antonio's father. A nobleman. They are his only family, though he has a large number of half-siblings since his mother was not actually married to his father.
☼History: Antonio was born to the maid of a very promiment noble. He didn't find out until he was much older, but his father was the very noble that his mother worked for. That was probably why the man was always giving him little extra money to go do fun things when his chores for the day were done and fondly patting his back. And also, it explained why his mother always looked at the man with a deep fondness and desire in her eyes. But Antonio didn't know that until he was sixteen.
The early years of his life were spent doing menial tasks around the manor. And also, they were spent listening to stories his mother told him. She was a happy woman, always full of wild stories and uplifting advice. She always told Antonio to be happy no matter what, and he has lived up to her wishes to this day.
When he was sixteen, shortly after discovering that the man he had lived with his whole life was his father (not to mention that the children he had always played with were his siblings), Antonio's mother took ill. Unable to find a way to cure her, she died. Antonio was heart-broken - his mother had always been the most important person in his life. And his father was also heart-broken. After the funeral, he kicked Antonio out of the manor with a small sack full of money, claiming that the boy was too much like his mother and he couldn't stay any longer.
So after spending his whole life practically in the lap of luxury, Antonio found himself alone and without any ability to support himself. But he had always been a hard worker and he wasn't about to let this stop him in his tracks. So he started traveling, taking odd jobs wherever he could find them, until he found himself enlisted in an army without really knowing how he got there.
Through his travels, he met a young man who absolutely captivated him. And he hasn't been able to get him out of his mind since. But he has never really seen him again. (VERY VAGUE REFERENCE TO MEETING ROMANO, YAY)
In the army, Antonio found his true calling in trying to help the people who were injured. He put forth all his effort into learning how to heal people. But his superiors had different plans for him. Because during his travels he had found a very unique battle axe that allowed him to deal devastating damage - provided he was angry. His superiors prodded until they found a few key subjects that would actually anger Antonio. They then set keywords on these subjects, so that with the utterance of a single word, they could send him into a rage. Essentially, they managed to brainwash him.
Eventually, the strain of hurting people and being unable to control himself got to Antonio, and at 22 he ran away from the army. But he still wanders around as a sort of mercenary, helping those that need to be helped, and doing what he can to make the world a better place.
☼Rp Sample: (From a mafia AU RP board I was on some time ago. <3)
It had been some time since Antonio had come to terms with the idea that "Let's get ice cream" coming from Lovino was an admission that the Italian was in a good mood. Lovino may never look like he was happy, but Antonio had developed a foolproof method of telling whether Lovino was mad or not:
If Lovino was yelling at you, it just meant he cared.
If Lovino was talking to you sarcastically, it just meant he was in a good mood.
If Lovino wanted ice cream, he was particularly happy.
And if Lovino refused to talk to you, you had done something very wrong.
Typically, the Italian's bad moods were followed up by a trip to get ice cream to show that he wasn't angry anymore. And that was exactly what this trip to the ice cream parlor was for. Antonio loved when his Lovinito took him for ice cream. It was just always such a cute trip. And even though Antonio tried to pay, Lovino would never let him. Ah well. One day, Antonio knew he would pay him back.
As they walked down the street towards the ice cream parlor, Antonio whistled to himself and smiled at the passers-by. Sometimes, he wished he could communicate with people more, but then again... he didn't mind not speaking English all that much.
Bouncing a little, the Spaniard looked at his companion and beamed brightly. "What do you think you'll get today?" he asked excitedly, speaking in Spanish like he most usually did. "I think you should get chocolate... chocolate's a good flavor." It had become a sort of game, trying to get Lovino to eat chocolate. After all, chocolate made everyone happier, didn't it?
And all Antonio wanted was for his Lovinito to be happy!
(Let me know if you'd like a different sample or something. XD; )
